BRIEF HISTORY
Gobz opened the studio commercially in 1991. At that time the facility
provided recording services and rehearsal rooms. The engineers there
were : Gobz and Shaun Atkins ( both later in Whores of Babylon and Soundisciples
), Dave McDonald ( now formally of Portishead )
By 1997 Geoff Barrow from `Portishead`
had bought into the studio and it was privatised for a time. By late
1999 the studio under went a massive equipment revamp and it was reopened
to the public together with the appointment of Stuart Matthews as manager
and Rick Dowding ( formerly manager of `The Coach House Studios, Clifton,
Bristol ) as chief Engineer.
WHATS IT LIKE ?
You can see from the pictures included here taken in 2000 the size
of the Control room which is much larger than the majority of studios
and over the years a feature that has proved very popular with artists.

Most of the product featured on the `302 Music Junction` network
of sites, both Soundisciples albums, the majority of the recording on the last 2 Portishead albums
